Single Engine Piston - SEP (Land)

24 months

  1. Within the 3 months preceding the expiry date of the rating, pass a proficiency check in the relevant class with an examiner
    OR
  2. Within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of the rating, complete 12 hours of flight time in the relevant class, including:
    •  6 hours as PIC
    •  12 take-offs and 12 landings
    •  a training flight of at least 1 hour with a flight instructor (FI) or a class rating instructor (CRI). Applicants shall be exempted from this flight if they have passed a class or type rating proficiency check or skill test in any other class or type of aeroplane
  1. Refresher training at an ATO, when necessary to reach the level of proficiency necessary to safely operate the relevant class or type of aircraft
  2. AND
    Pass a proficiency check in accordance with Appendix 9 to Part FCL

Touring Motor Glider - TMG

24 Months

  1. Within the 3 months preceding the expiry date of the rating, pass a proficiency check in the relevant class with an examiner
    OR
  2. Within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of the rating, complete 12 hours of flight time in the relevant class, including:
    •  6 hours as PIC
    •  12 take-offs and 12 landings
    •  a training flight of at least 1 hour with a flight instructor (FI) or a class rating instructor (CRI). Applicants shall be exempted from this flight if they have passed a class or type rating proficiency check or skill test in any other class or type of aeroplane

When applicants hold both a SEP (Land) class rating and a TMG rating, they may complete the requirements of (a) and (b) in either class, and achieve revalidation of both ratings.

  1. Refresher training at an ATO, when necessary to reach the level of proficiency necessary to safely operate the relevant class or type of aircraft
    AND
  2. pass a proficiency check in accordance with Appendix 9 to Part FCL

Single Engine Turbo-Prop - SET

24 Months

Revalidation Single Engine Turbo-Prop – SET

For revalidation of single engine turbo-prop class ratings applicants shall pass a proficiency check on the relevant class with an examiner, within the 3 months preceding the expiry date of the rating.

  1. Refresher training at an ATO, when necessary to reach the level of proficiency necessary to safely operate the relevant class or type of aircraft
    AND
  2. Pass a proficiency check in accordance with Appendix 9 to Part FCL

Notes:
The content of the training flight referred to above is not specified. The applicant and FI or CRI conducting the flight can decide between them what the flight will contain
The revalidation of an IR, if held, may be combined with a proficiency check for the revalidation of a class or type rating

• Revalidation
The administrative action taken within the period of validity of a rating or certificate which allows the holder to continue to exercise the privileges of a rating or certificate for a further specified period consequent upon the fulfilment of specified requirements
• Renewal
The administrative action taken after a rating or certificate has lapsed for the purpose of renewing the privileges of the rating or certificate for a further specified period consequent upon the fulfilment of specified requirements
• Skill Test
The demonstration of skill for a licence or rating issue, including such oral examination as may be required.
• Proficiency Check
The demonstration of skill to revalidate or renew ratings, and including such oral examination as may be required
